This Zinfandel is our super-Nova in a glass! Planted in the 1960s, the Nova Vineyard lies in Lake County on the benchland of Mount Konocti. This head-trained vineyard is planted in ancient alluvial soils at 1500 ft elevation. The organically grown vines receive only one watering during the growing season, and the crop is thinned to approximately four tons per acre. Together these practices encourage the vines to develop smaller berries with complex, more concentrated flavors.
